Private Lessons - Lake Rawlings will travel to any location in the United States east of the Mississippi River and south of the Ohio River to provide lessons in the PADI Open Water Scuba Diver course upon request. The cost for private lessons is a flat fee $1,500.00 for up to four (4) divers, plus travel expenses. Travel expenses include mileage at a rate of $0.50 per round trip mile, and per diem at a rate of $125.00 per day when the distance is greater than 75 miles from our location. All additional divers over four will pay $450.00 per diver.
Scope of Services - Fees cover educational materials (text, dive tables, log book, etc.), one DVD loaner (additional $35.00 deposit required for loaner), use of scuba equipment, instructor fee, certification fee and admission and tent camping fees to Lake Rawlings Scuba Park. The contractor is responsible for providing a pool and classroom for the confined water and academic sessions. Divers are responsible for purchasing their mask, fins, snorkel and booties prior to the open water certification dives.
Typical Schedule - A typical schedule requires three meetings to complete the academic and confined water sessions of the scuba course at the pool of your choice. This can be done during any three consecutive days of the week, but typically, most classes are scheduled Friday through Sunday.
We encourage our PADI divers to form a dive club, or group for family or group travel, when the divers are certified, or to join up with an already existing association of divers whose purpose is to scuba dive at local or distant locations. Lake Rawlings will organize local or distant scuba vacations or travel, through our Brunswick/Mecklenburg Scuba Association, to destinations in Florida, the Bahamas, or the Caribbean upon request.
