PADI Open Water Scuba Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver Weekend Course is divided into three segments: Academic, Confined Water and Open Water. Our program also separates the academic and confined water sessions into five modules. This modular approach presents specific knowledge and skill information so that the diver can safely visit the underwater world and return.

The academic sessions will present basic information to the student about diving equipment, adapting to the underwater world, the diving environment, using the Dive Planner and underwater compass navigation, among other topics.

This is a fun course and is definitely user friendly.

Cost: $450/person

(Includes tuition, scuba equipment for confined water sessions and open water dives, PADI Open Water Manual or CD-ROM, all certification fees.)

PADI Referral Program

Our PADI Referral Program accepts qualified referrals from other PADI dive shops, PADI scuba instructors, and yes, divers trained by other scuba agencies. To participate, the diver must demonstrate the following: (1) verification and documentation that clearly shows the diver has completed the academic and confined water portion of his/her scuba training within the past 12-months; (2) a PADI Medical Form that has been completed within the past 12-months of confined water and academic training; and (3) preassessment, to include verification of adequate knowledge and skills, and in the case of non-PADI referrals, a Scuba Review is also required by us.

The cost of our referral program is $250.00 per diver, and it includes four scuba dives, PADI certification and cert fees, use of scuba equipment (except mask, fins, snorkel and booties), unlimited air, and scuba park admission and camping fees for the duration of the training.

PADI Drysuit Specialty Course

Cost: $150.00
Cost includes use of drysuit, two training dives, text, scuba park admission and certification fee. A $25.00 drysuit repair deposit will be collected prior to the course, and returned to the customer when the equipment is returned in good working condition. A credit of $125.00 shall be returned to the customer when the drysuit is purchased from Lake Rawlings before or upon completion of the course.

PADI Nitrox Specialty Course

Cost: $125.00
Cost includes use of O2 analyzer, text, educational material, lecture, DVD viewing, scuba park admission, and one scuba dive (indirect supervision).

PADI Assistant Instructor and Divemaster

Chip Earle will be hosting an Assistant Instructor course in Charlottesville beginning on Friday September 12th. Open Water is tentatively scheduled for Monday the 15th. Depending on demand we will also schedule an OWSI program and will try to get PADI to run another IE at Lake Rawlings. Obviously dates are pending. For the most part we are intending to run the OWSI and IE in the Spring, but there are alternative that would allow a candidate to complete this Fall.
